One week stay at Jaz Aquaviva. Excellent hotel, great facilities, enjoyed the peace and quiet of the adult pool. Didn't use the water park or participate in the animation activities. I went for a relaxing break and this is exactly what this hotel delivered. Room spacious, pools and gardens were first class (lost count of the number of pools they have). Excellent food choice - I didn't bother trying the a la carte restaurant but I'm sure this was excellent too. My final comment relates to the staff. I've stayed at hotels many times before in Egypt and staff there are always attentive, but the staff at Jaz Aquaviva really were top notch. I chose to sit in the same area of the restaurant every day, which meant that Mohammed had a table ready for me at each meal time, he knew what I wanted to drink, he kept my drinks topped up without me needing to ask, he was first-rate. In the bar it was the same, the guy's quickly learnt what I drank and would often bring the next drink to the table just as the previous one was finished. The guy who cleaned the room was great - some of the best towel art I've ever experienced. At the adult pool the same great service, towel waiting as you arrived, they had a guy who came round and cleaned your sun glasses, we even had chefs bringing sweets/pastries around during the afternoon. Nothing was too much - yes they would all like a tip to supplement their wages but they were never pushy. I usually tip at the end of the week so for the first 6 days I didn't tip any of them at all giving them a larger tip on my last night. This didn't make any difference and the service throughout was first rate even though they had no guarantee of getting a tip. If you haven't been to Egypt recently, give this hotel some serious consideration. Their tourist industry certainly needs a lift.
