The Visaya Hotel is a 'newish' hotel in the aipur on a major road within fairly easy reach of the International airport. The hotel is swanky but not opulent, chic but not too hip for it's own good. Its main purpose is to provide quiet, cool accommodations in STYLE - for a reasonable price. The theme here is Southeast Asian. Variously posed Buddhas alight throughout the hotel and fresh flowers and offerings are a nice touch throughout. This is a boutique hotel and guests requiring full complement of business support should try elsewhere. There is not many shops or restaurants in the area which is the biggest drawback for me. But there is room service and a meeting room as well as a small gym and new spa however and it will suit most business travelers. Shopping and eats are a 5-minute car ride away. The world here is calm and relaxing and would be a nice splash out for backpackers. It is a special place that is quite sophisticated and hip but not pretentious or overdone. I stayed here for business for several weeks and would not hesitate to return if back in Jaipur. Nicely done. The hotel is beautifully designed, but clearly not being managed well. Repairs to fixtures in the room, particularly in the bathroom were done cheaply, with stains and cracks remaining. Breakfast, no matter how early one was there, was always cold, as they would leave the warm buffet vessels open. The courtyard garden was blessed with the aroma of a local sewer. The receptionist failed to give us a second key, even though two of us booked the reservation together and we requested a second key several times. Room service trays were left in hallways by other guests for longer than 24 hours with no one from the hotel picking them up. It is a beautiful space, but clearly past its time. Only fine if you only the basics.
